The Bridgewater Hall is a lovely local heritage hall in the heart of Bridgewater, South Australia.
It was initiated and built by the local community and began as the Bridgewater Institute, with the foundation stone laid in October 1913. The Bridgewater Institute was the venue for many local community and social events. Run by volunteers and fundraising, the institute was managed by the women of the community, to primarily provide educational opportunities and as a place for social connection and entertainment. The lower level housed a library, while the main hall hosted town gatherings, entertainment events and moving picture shows.
Over time the library was removed and the building became known as the Bridgewater Hall
It is now owned by the Adelaide Hills Council and managed by the Bridgewater Hall Inc Committee, a small group of dedicated volunteers.
It is still well utilised by the local and broader hills community for a range of activities including dance and exercise classes, birthday parties, meetings, quiz nights, seminars and weddings.
It is available to hire for regular or occasional activities at reasonable rates.

The Bridgewater Hall is located on the beautiful traditional lands of the Peramangk and Kaurna peoples. The Bridgewater Hall Inc Committee recognises the Traditional Owners ongoing deep connection to country and pay respect to their ancestors and elders.
